Ticats Release Shamawd Chambers

Hamilton released a pair of offensive linemen on Tuesday but the most notable release was veteran Canadian receiver Shamawd Chambers.

A six overall draft pick in the 2012 CFL Draft, Chambers spent time with the Eskimos and Riders before Edmonton traded him to Hamilton in 2017. The 2015 Grey Cup’s Most Outstanding Canadian had his best season in 2013 when he amassed 465 yards and 42 receptions. He missed the entire 2018 season due to a training camp ACL injury.

Hamilton will look to Mike Jones as their Canadian receiver heading into 2019 but they also drafted Marcus Davis in the 4th Round last year and David Ungerer III, a product of the Unversity of Idaho, in the 2nd Round this year.

The Ticats also announced that they will be live streaming Thursday’s preseason game against the Argos on their website.

The BC Lions also trimmed their roster by 13 ahead of their preseason finale against Calgary on Friday.
