Following Thursday’s head shot from Ticats linebacker Simoni Lawrence, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have officially placed quarterback Zach Collaros on the six-game injured list.
The Riders haven’t said that Collaros has a concussion but Justin Dunk reported that he didn’t pass concussion protocol on Thursday and with his history of head injuries, coach Craig Dickenson told media it was a team decision.
A league source has since told TSN’s Farhan Lalji that Lawrence should have been ejected from Thursday’s game and supplementary discipline will be decided by Monday.
The Roughriders have signed former Blue Bomber quarterback Bryan Bennett and will let Cody Fajardo and Isaac Harker battle it out for the starting job this Thursday against the Ottawa RedBlacks. Fajardo seems to have the early edge after winning the number two job out of camp and practicing with the first team offence in Sunday’s practice.
