After serving my 2 episode suspension, I have returned to
give you the fantasy numbers heading into week 3. After a weekend full of golf, gambling, and
gibsons finest, I figured it was time to get back behind the keyboard and do
some work for the first time in a week.
This week is the week I finally decided to cave and not start a
defence. I know I’ve said in the past
that it’s cheating and circumventing the salary cap, but Travis made a good
point: If you ain’t cheating, you ain’t trying.
This week I am fully embracing that edict and going all in on
offence. Now if it doesn’t work this
week, I can blame Travis and his wife for brainwashing me.
After
the week 2 drubbing the Argonauts took at the hands of the Tiger-cats, James
Franklins cost somehow went up $432 which makes zero sense to me after he
scored only 6.6pts and in one start against the Riders, he scored 0.4pts, and
averages 14pts/start. $9,903 seems a
little steep in my opinion and after the way the OLine played last week,
there’s no incentive to pick him. When
it comes to the rest of the starting QBs, Cody Fajardo is the best value for
$/points. It’s the smallest sample size
you can get but 29.4pts in his first start and only $6,235, against what looks
like a terrible Toronto D, it could be a great value pick this week. Andrew Harris, dubbed the Eskimo Killer by
many, comes in to the week as the highest average agains opponent at
16.7pts/game against Edmonton and still under $9,000. As for WR, there’s 2 that average over
20pts/game, Bralon Addison and Chris Matthews, who will cost you $5,179 and
$3,500 respectively. I’m always a fan of
stacking a QB with his WR or RB to try to double up some points and this week,
with Saskatchewan and Hamilton against considerably weaker defences, it’s a
great opportunity to do it
Good
luck this week, and remember, embrace the cheating as I have….for now
