Yet another starting quarterback went down Thursday night as Winnipeg’s Matt Nichols left the field holding his arm.
Head coach Mike O’Shea said that Nichols’ upper body injury will not require surgery and he’ll be re-evaluated in 4-6 weeks. In the meantime Chris Streveler (1-3 in starts last year) will line up behind centre starting with this Friday’s Western showdown with the Eskimos.
That means that the only two starting quarterbacks to begin the season left standing are Mike Reilly and Trevor Harris. With the Lions surrendering nearly 40 sacks through 9 games and allowing Reilly to get hit even more, how long until another quarterback hits the injured list?
